A Brief History

In 2007 the Grand River Ghostmen were established by Jason Kaminski.

TIMELINE

November 2006 - Lefty Grove becomes the first member of the Grand River Ghostmen by being selected in the expansion draft.

January 2007 - Grand River makes their first trade. Grand River sends (SP) Cy Young and the 6th round pick to Kyle Korps for the 8th overall pick and (C) Joe Torre.

January 2007 - The 2007 draft takes place with Grand River selecting (OF) Larry Walker 4th overall and (SP) Rube Waddell 8th overall.

September 2007 - Grand River clinches the Western Division Title in their inaugural season. They post the league's best record with 86 wins and 68 losses giving them home field advantage in the World Series.

October 2007 - The Grand River Ghostmen defeat the Old Brooklyn Bombers in the World Series 4 games to 2. Rube Waddell wins the Series MVP award winning both games he started and posting an ERA of 1.13 and striking out 7.

September 2008 - Willie Mays becomes the first player in Grand River history to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases in the same season. (32 HR and 23 SB)
